Gruszów Palace partner of the Golden Moustache 2023 plebiscite

The annual Golden Moustache plebiscite is part of the worldwide ‘moustache November’ movement, in which well-known men grow moustaches in November - a symbol and identifying mark to draw attention to male cancer and prostate cancer prevention. Although this type of condition can offer a good chance of successful treatment, men still do not get examined regularly and a routine visit to a specialist seems out of the question for a whole host of men.


Gruszów Palace became a partner of this year's Golden Moustache plebiscite, and it was here that we produced a wonderful advertising spot encouraging men to undergo preventive examinations. The spot was entitled ‘At a gallop and without talking, for a checkup!’. It featured, among others, the owner of the facility, Mrs Kinga Zabokrzycka, in the role of Countess Szczęsna Zdrowopolska of the Dzierżywąs coat of arms.



As part of the Golden Moustache poll, the holder of the most popular beard is selected by a vote. Each year, the first stage of the competition is the individual moustache holders' entries. Afterwards, the holders of the six best beards (chosen by a jury) take part in a professional photo shoot. From among the finalists, Internet users choose the winner of the Golden Moustache by means of a free vote. In the gala final, the winners of the top places are awarded.


The main aim of the event is to popularise male prevention, to discuss male cancer openly without taboos and to make men aware of how important it is to regularly check their own bodies, especially in the context of cancer. Several hundred free preventive examinations and medical consultations are also distributed each time. 



Men's Forum Foundation


The entire campaign is organised by the Men's Forum Foundation, which in its activities focuses on issues relating to men's health, prevention, counteracting social exclusion and building and promoting a positive image of fatherhood.


Organised in November, the Golden Moustache Competition aims to raise awareness among Wrocław residents about preventive male health. The action has a practical dimension, as the foundation also distributes several hundred free preventive examinations and medical consultations as part of the Golden Moustache campaign.
